Wings for L.I.F.E.’s mission is to build and strengthen healthy family
relationships and individual life-skills through “Best Practice” programs
that produce positive behaviors while respecting the dignity of those we
serve in Chaves County, New Mexico.

Program and Services:

Community Outreach Program
Meets once a month on Sunday evenings. Informative presentations by top professionals in our community on important topics of the day.  Program is followed by a delicious meal prepared on site.   Child care available.

Building Assets After-school Program
Based on Search Institute’s 40 Developmental Assets.  Search Institute is nationally recognized for its research regarding healthy development in young people.  Assets are important because they:

  • Promote academic success
  • Reduce engagement in risky behaviors
  • Give young people power to make positive choices

Research shows that most children who are resilient possess at least 18 Developmental Assets
The more assets young people have, the more successful and resourceful they tend to be

Why Try/ARISE in Middle School
Weekly evidence based program for sixth through eighth grade  that  is a proactive  approach to answer the  question, “Why Try In Life?”  Honesty, respect, and dignity are taught, internalized and reinforced through Why Try lessons.

Parenting Classes
Weekly Court approved curriculum that provides quality parenting instruction.   Parents can enter at any time.  Child care provided.  Certificates issued upon completion.

Programs for Detainees
Weekly programs offered to juveniles and adults in detention to provide them with the skills necessary to successfully reintegrate back into society as productive citizens.
