Detention Center Outreach
Wings for L.I.F.E. provides the valuable life-skills and education that incarcerated men and women can use to bring about positive changes in behavior. Wings provides life-skill training, substance abuse education, cognitive behavior therapy, health education, social responsibility, and parenting skills to help adults to make right choices in their lives and build healthy relations with their families and the community. Individuals are encouraged to use their time well so when discharged they can use the skills and tools needed to make changes to enable them to successfully reintegrate back into the community.
Wings provides incarcerated teens life-skill training that includes substance abuse education,
self-reliance and esteem, resiliency, emotional intelligence, domestic and or dating violence, co-dependency awareness, Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Timely (SMART) goals, and social responsibility dating violence.
"The future of incarcerated youth is not set into stone; and, much like the youth served in Building Assets, there is one expectation, to grow and become principled young men and women."
